The Pittsfield Suns get key pinch-hit in 10-9 victory over the Bristol Blues

Thomas Hughes was cold coming off the bench, but Hughes warmed up quickly as Hughes stroked a key pinch-hit double in the nine to lead the Pittsfield Suns (17-27) to a 10-9 win over the Bristol Blues (21-25) on Sunday at Wahconah Park.
With the Pittsfield Suns trailing by three, Hughes came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Jake Goodreau, Justin Glover and Al Zachary.
Hughes racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Pittsfield Suns.
A walk-off single by Justin Morhardt gave the Pittsfield Suns the win.
Morhardt had a hot bat for the Pittsfield Suns. Morhardt went 3-6, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the tenth inning and singled in the fourth and twelfth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 19 total runs and 24 hits during the game. There were 12 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
Matt Cuneo improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Pittsfield Suns. Cuneo struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.
Randy Polonia couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Bristol Blues, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
